Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are said to be worth their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual individuals; they simply act as the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards shall then be dealt to the 'banker' and 'player'. The value for every hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 and 5 results in a score of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the '1').

A 3rd card could be dealt depending on the foll. rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, each players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to 20 (even money minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties will happen lower than 1 every ten hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are far better - nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played effectively, baccarat offers relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future results. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and feasibly most successful strategy is the one-3-two-six technique. This technique is used to build up successes and reducing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you don't win on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
