Baccarat Rules
Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued under ten are worth their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual contenders; they only symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of 2 cards will then be played to the 'banker' and 'player'. The value for any hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 gives a score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the '1').
A 3rd card may be played depending on the following practices:
- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie normally pay out eight to one and sometimes nine to one. (This is a bad wager as ties will happen lower than one every ten hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Even so odds are positively better - 9 to 1 versus eight to 1)
When played properly, baccarat provides pretty decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future happenings. Monitoring of previous results on a chart is simply a total waste of paper ... a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-three-two-6 concept. This technique is employed to boost payouts and reducing risk.
Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don't win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
