Baccarat Chemin de Fer Principles

Baccarat chemin de fer is wagered on with eight decks in a shoe. Cards below ten are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is one. Bets are made on the 'bank', the 'player', or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the 'house' and 'gambler'. The value for each hand is the sum total of the cards, although the beginning number is dropped. For example, a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (five plus six = 11; ditch the first 'one').

A additional card could be given using the following rules:

- If the gambler or house has a value of eight or nine, the two players hold.

- If the player has less than five, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the gambler stands, the house hits on five or less. If the player takes a card, a guide is used to see if the banker holds or hits.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The larger of the two totals wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19:20 (equal cash less a five percent rake. Commission are kept track of and paid off once you depart the game so ensure you still have funds left over just before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pay one to one. Winning bets for a tie normally pay 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a poor bet as ties occur less than one in every ten hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Bet on correctly baccarat offers fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Strategy

As with all games baccarat banque has some established myths. One of which is similar to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn't a fore-teller of events about to happen. Keeping score of past outcomes at a table is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper needs.

The most accepted and likely the most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six tactic. This plan is employed to pump up earnings and limit losses.

Start by betting 1 chip. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a sum of 3 dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold six on the game table, remove four so you are left with 2 on the 3rd bet. If you come away with a win on the third round, deposit 2 to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th round.

Should you don't win on the first bet, you take a hit of one. A profit on the first bet followed by a loss on the second creates a hit of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a take of two. And success on the 1st three with a defeat on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all 4 bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you are able to not win on the second wager five instances for every favorable streak of four wagers and still balance the books.
