Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are worth face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual contenders; they just depict the two hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards are then given out to the 'banker' ... 'player'. The total for any hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven ... five produces a score of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the 'one').

A third card might be dealt depending on the following codes:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie normally pay out eight to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are thoroughly better - 9 to one versus eight to 1)

Played correctly, baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with every games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of previous outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and feasibly most successful technique is the one-three-2-six concept. This plan is used to increase payouts and limiting risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a sum of six on the 4th gamble.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
