Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are of their printed number while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the 'banker,' the 'player' or for a tie (these aren't actual contenders; they strictly represent the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the 'banker' and 'player'. The value for each hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven and five produces a total of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the '1').

A third card might be given out depending on the following rules:

- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or nine, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Winning stakes on the banker pay 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie by and large pays 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is an awful gamble as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. be cautious of placing bets on a tie. However odds are generously better - nine to one vs. eight to one)

Played accurately, baccarat presents pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future events. Monitoring of historic results on a chart is simply a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and almost certainly most successful tactic is the one-three-two-6 method. This scheme is used to accentuate winnings and lowering risk.

Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.

If you don't win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
